CommitMonitor SVN

February 10, 2009

CommitMonitor is a small tool to monitor Subversion repositories for new commits.

It’s very easy to install and configure.
An image tells more than 1000 words, so here are some screenshots.
The project settings window:
project_settings

You may see how many inputs you need to fill in 🙂
Once it’s installed and running, you may notice its activity looking the eyes in tray bar:

eyes_black eyes_red

When a new commit is found, eyes become red colored and start moving, and a baloon displays too.

commits_available

Well, last but not least…
If you want to publish a directory automatically, ie a read-only shared directory on a server, compile the “Script/Command to call …” input too.
Here is an example script:

@echo off
echo ———————————————–
cd C:\temp\svnrepository
date /T
time /T
svn update –username roberto –password roberto

And here is sample of the log

———————————————–

Sun 02/08/2009
03:55 PM
U    proect1\trunk\primo.txt
Updated to revision 26.

In a few minutes, you have all done automatically.
You may also play with authorizations, but that’s another story. 😉
