Visual Studio 2005 SP1 fails to install on Windows 2003

Well, it’s time for a pc upgrade… tadaaa! 🙂
WSUS made its jobs 🙂 but reported these 3 logs:

Product: Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition – ENU – Update ‘Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Team Explorer – ENU Service Pack 1 (KB926601)’ could not be installed. Error code 1603. Additional information is available in the log file C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\VS80sp1-KB926601-X86-ENU\VS80sp1-KB926601-X86-ENU-msi.0.log.

Product: Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition – ENU — Error 1718.File C:\WINDOWS\Installer\15da86.msp did not pass the digital signature check. For more information about a possible resolution for this problem, see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=73863.

The installation of C:\WINDOWS\Installer\15da86.msp is not permitted due to an error in software restriction policy processing. The object cannot be trusted.

What???
It worked well last time (actually a little bit slooooow, but it did it… in the end 🙂 ) on Windows XP, now I suppose Windows 2003 R2 has some very little differences compared to Windows XP.
Anyway, I found the solution here: Visual Studio 2005 Professional SP1 fails to install .
I made these easy steps:
-install KB925336, here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925336
-change Enforcement to “All users except the local administrators” in Control Panel \ Administrator tools \ Local Security Policy \ Software Restrication policies \ Enforcment

and it worked again! 🙂
