Windows Mobile 6: clear T9 dictionary

May 12, 2012

Almost 5 years on BlackJack are passed by, the it was time to clear T9 dictionary.
My T9 dictionary doesn’t list many words, but few mispelled words (ie “morning”) matching too often, so how to clear T9 dictionary ?
- go to \Windows
- find eT9Rudb.Rdb and eT9Cdb.Cdb files
- rename them
- reboot device (old school :D)

If you want, you may backup and restore correct words, read source Is it possible to save the added words to the T9?.

Intel XOLO X900 and now …

April 23, 2012

Today has been released new Intel smartphone Xolo X900.
Tech specs are: Z2460 single-core at 1.6GHz, 1GB ram, 16GB storage, display 4″ 1024×600, plus 3G, NFC, video HD playback, … .

Few years ago laptop had specs like these: Centrino 1.7 MHz, 1GB ram, 80GB HD, display 15″ 1280×800, ¬†plus usb,lan, … .

Current top level mobiles can replace old laptops, and they are cheaper, sort of.
Do X900′s battery last longer than laptop’s battery ? :)
Will they provide a keyboard too ? ;)

February 10, 2010

Valter Minute talked about it last Xedotnet meeting: a very powerfull demo on Windows CE hard real time feature.
I was very interested about it, and lurked a few around so I found press news Beckhoff implements Schtick pendulum for Microsoft and video.

Xedotnet: Mobile Track

February 6, 2010

It’s Windows CE, Windows Embedded, Windows Mobile … and so on!
I already wrote few words here: What kind of Windows is Windows CE? ….

Last Xedotnet’s meeting had two sessions about it:
-Windows Embedded, segreti e misteri delle piattaforme microsoft per i devices by Valter Minute
-Windows Mobile: State & Notification Broker by Michele Locuratolo

Unfortunately Michele couldn’t take part, because of snow in Milano’s land. :(
So, Valter had the chance to enlarge it’s session, talk whole time, a show us very usefull things about Windows CE/Mobile/Embedded, Compact Framework and MSDN Embedded, and many other things.
To me he didn’t miss the point. ;)
It was very interesting see how decives and software changed for 15 years.

Valter showed us Microsoft Shared Source license, and how to debug the os too! :o
Well, I had a 15 years flashback. ;)

I really enjoyed it.
